Resolved Question: What are some great songs
I'm a fan of metal but i like some jazz and fusion:
Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Coltrane, Holdsworth, Stanley Jordanetc..
I saw Allmusic describe Pat Metheny as a very talented guitarist but when I bought some "greatest hits" album it was boring and like elevator music to me.(Not that it IS elevator music)
What am i missing out on??

Resolved Question: John Mclaughlin or Pat
Who do you think plays more technical? Who's more technically demanding?

Resolved Question: Does anyone think that
For some reason I am convinced and hooked on the idea that he plays the most difficult musical passages? Please give reasons to why or why not he is the most technical, or who might be better? Please no rock/pop/blues guitarists, their virtuosity is very limited and cannot even compare to jazz/classical guitarists. Sorry, but the honest truth is that Jazz/Classical music uses more chords and is harder to play than rock/pop/blues. I checked out some of the bands that play "jazz metal", but they seem to be more on the metal side. Still dosn't seem as complex as Pat Metheny; sounds like they just play the same note fast over and over again. It's way too into the rock spectrum to be more technical than jazz. I personally think jazz fusion to be the more complex.
