Growing PainsCONCORD, N.C. -- At one time, Sam Hornish Jr. was following in the footsteps of legends. He was America's next IndyCar star, continuing a legacy started by drivers such as A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti and Rick Mears. An IndyCar champion when he was just 21 years old, Hornish would go on to win three championships and the 2006 Indianapolis 500.
