Resolved Question: Belgium 2009 - 2 Italian
For this 2009 Belgian Grand Prix the first row is made of Giancarlo Fisichella and Jarno Trulli, both Italian drivers.
1) When was the last time 2 Italian drivers occupied the first row in a F1 Grand Prix? And who were the drivers?
2) Since F1 inception in 1950, how many times did it happen that the front row (P1 and P2) was taken by Italian drivers?
3) Can you name those drivers?
4) What is the age average of the first 4 qualifiers for this 2009 Belgian Grand Prix? Can you believe it?
5) Aside from qualifying last, what record has Luca Badoer established today (this pertains solely to today's qualifying, and has nothing to do with his pointless career)? Allan:
Q1: Yes, the same two drivers in the same positions, Australia 2005
Q2: 13 times including yesterday, so you missed two other occasions
Q3: Your 10 are correct, plus yesterday's result. But you still miss two other times
Q4: Allan, correct. Maybe we both have some chances left at our age. Can't do much worse than Badoer
Q5: Believe it or not, Luca Badoer actually has set a record yesterday. He was the fastest driver of the weekend in the speed trap at Spa. I guess he set up his wings for high speed, and consequently got less out of the car in the medium-slow corners. However, out of all the negativty, he was actually the fastest driver of the weekend (for that split second only) Allan again,
considering you are the only one who answered, I am puzzled over the integrity of what I consider the quiz monsters of Y!A F1 section. They disappeared. OK, rosbif is on vacation so he is excused, but the others???? Shame on them!
And on top of that, what's up with the TD's? You are the only one who did some research and put efforts into answering, and as a result a couple of smart asses got to read question, answer and dive TD's ?????? The level of intelligence here sometimes is below zero. At times I contemplate to just quit this thing as it is often ridicolous .
WinWin: You are excused. IU'll see you next quiz.
Dancecorona: Yes, it's pretty funny. But true.
Allan: The two Italian first rows you missed are both in 1952:
- 52 Swiss G.P. - Farina - Taruffi
- 52 British G.P. - Farina - Ascari
So if you take away twice in the 2000's, twice in the 80's, it happened 9 times in the early 50's. Nothing in the 60's, 70's and 90's.
