Resolved Question: R&P : Are you going to
Hello late-night R&P :)
Some of you may know that I am working on a 'Scarborough Fair' Project, collecting various versions of the song to compile {both vocal and instrumental}.
Currently, I have 55 different versions, but I'm wondering what else is out there, and I figured the R&P community were most likely to know. So, what can you bring me?
BQ : Have you ever been to a Renaissance Fair? If so, what are they like?
BQ2 : Your favourite version of 'Scarborough Fair'?
BQ3 : What songs do you have more than one version of {by different artists}?
NP : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53gFHxScMcs&fmt=18 #########
Maid of Fail :
I *love* 'Mother Goose' :)
I have the Queensryche version of 'SF', and very good it is to. Blotto : No, I've never heard of them.
The only site I can find it on won't let me play it :( Captain Futility : Yes, I have all from Sarah Brightman to Gregorian, plus several others you mentioned ~ the Nigel Kennedy version is beautiful.
{it is best *never* to mention Claire Sweeney!}.
I couldn't quite get into Martin Carthy, but The Imagined Village was lovely.
I'm holding out hope that maybe one day Blackmore's Night will do a version... ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Some unusual versions people might like to try :
David Weiss ~ played on the Saw
Inca Son ~ panpipes
Leif Shires ~ piano {jazz}
Lori Pappajohn ~ harp
John Renbourn ~ wonderful 13 minute Folk version titled
'My Johnny a Shoemaker / Scarborough Fair / Westron' Lex Van Someren ~ he whistles it...!

I was thinking of going 50/50 but then I'd lose track on what was happening on each side. zargonius: It didn't stop you answering the question. See it 1min of your life you'll never ever EVER get back.
